A great day tour

Ragga writes: Marjorie Liu found us in the New York Times Magazine after looking through MANY web sites offering day tours in Iceland. I’m so happy she joined me for a fiberlicious day tour in the West of Iceland… We had such a good time and I enjoyed her company A LOT – here is some of the things we did: visited Guðrún Bjarnadóttir, the botanist with the serious yarn dyeing obsession, Rita who gave us her home made crowberry juice, Helga María, the farmer-superwoman who let us hang out with her sheep, the Center for Puppet Arts and the lovely Hvítibær café/guest house where we saw the volcano ash for the first time through the window.

Today we met up again for a down town yarnwalk that turned into a sci-fi/comic book walk – we decided to visit Nexus, the Icelandic hot-spot for sci-fi/comic enthusiasts. It turned out that they had quite a selection of Marjorie’s books… yup, the woman is a best selling writer and HUGE name in her genres that include urban fantasy, paranormal romances and Marvel comics like the X-men series. I love my job!
